Coach Bodwell

Steve feels “Blessed and Spoiled” to be coaching at Tahoma High School. He graduated from Tahoma in 1981, then went on to graduate from Oregon State University in 1986 with a degree in Construction Engineering Management. Once he graduated, he came right back to Maple Valley and became a full part of the community by:

  • Working at a local church as a Youth Director (25 yrs)

  • Assisting with leadership classes/students at Tahoma H.S. (30 yrs)

  • Coaching football at Tahoma H.S. (35 yrs)

Steve has coached a variety of positions on the football field: offensive linemen, defensive linemen, receivers, kickers, and long snappers. Steve currently coaches kickers and oversees football managers.

Steve and his wife, Suze, have been married for over 30 years and counting. She was a schoolteacher in the Snoqualmie Valley School District for 27 years but is living the retired life now (and she won’t let Steve retire so that she doesn’t have to babysit him). Steve and Suze have also run a custodial and sound business for the last 12 years. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their little Corgi, Tank in their free time.

Throughout his adult life in the Maple Valley area, Steve has kept one goal at the forefront: serve and invest in the next generation and to remind all that they have Value, Worth, and Meaning.
